ACMC 2009 Program
June 14-June 27, 2009
June 13 USA/Hong Kong
Depart USA to China, enjoy delicious meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for our
journey.
June 14 Arrive Hong Kong
The flight arrives at Hong Kong; Hong Kong is called the "City of Life" because it exudes
a zest for life. Discover a diverse modern metropolis steeped in unique blends of
Eastern and Western traditions. Using prepaid ticket to take shuttle to your hotel in one
of the commercial center of Hong Kong.
June 15 Hong Kong (L)
Meet in hotel lobby for a half day sightseeing tour of Hong Kong Island with a visit to
Wong Tai Sin Temple, Victoria Harbour, Xinguan St and to overlook Hong kong from
Wangjiao Peak. Free time after lunch for shopping and visit friends.
June 16 Hong Kong/Guangzhou (SL, D)
In the morning, Take train to Guangzhou, the Flower city in Canton. Enjoy the "real"
Dim Sum at its home town. in the afternoon, visit Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Chen
Ancestral Temple. Hop aboard a cruise of the Zhu River after dinner, enjoy the
magnificent twinkling night scenery of Guangzhou.
June 17 Guangzhou/Beijing (AB, L, D)
Flight to Beijing. Visit the Temple of Heaven , where the Emperor prayed for harvest in
Ming and Qing dynasty.
June 18 Beijing (AB, L, SD)
Beijing is the capital of China , and the host city for the 2008 Olympics. We embark for a
full day tour, begins at Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the world, its
monuments and buildings situated around the square's perimeter. Then we visit the
Forbidden City and Summer Palace, enjoy a walk along Lake Kunming . Dinner is served
at a fabulous Peking Duck Banquet.
June 19 Beijing (AB, L, D)
The Great Wall of China is one of the seven great man-made wonders of the world and
definitely the focal point of China . Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant followed by a visit to
the historic Hutong and Alley of Beijing old town, take in the sights and sounds of the
Beijing of olden times. Enjoy the Traditional Chinese Kungfu Show tonight.
June 20. Conference
Transport to conference after Breakfast. The Conferece offer Lunch and dinner. Family
members or none-conference participants are free for the day.
June 21. Beijing/Yichang/Three Gorges (AB, L, D)
Fly to Yichang today. Head to the docks where Regal China cruise ship awaits to take
us on our highly anticipated Majestic Yangtze adventure.
June 22. Cruise the Yangtze (AB, L, SD)
Our cruise set sail from Yichang, the first stop is at Taipingxi (or Sandouping), where we
disembark to visit the massive Three Gorges Dam Project, which is the world's largest
dam, measuring 606 feet high and 6,500 feet long. In 1997, the cofferdam was
completed and the main structure begun. The dam has two five-stage locks to raise and
lower ships to the different river levels. Each lock in the five stages is 65 feet high and
910 feet long. Later of the day, the ship sails through Xiling Gorge, the longest one of
the Three Gorges.
June 23. Cruise the Yangtze (AB, L, D)
In the morning, we board small riverboat for a leisurely ride through Shennong Stream,
also call Little Three Gorge, which offers clear running waters, picturesque rock
formations, and even monkeys and goat along its banks. Later of the day, Sail through
Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge is famous for its quiet and beauty, and the
Wushan was know for the twelve Peaks cutting into clouds. The Goddess Peak is
historically well known. Qutang Gorge is the shortest and most dramatic one of the
Three Gorges.
June 24. Cruise the Yangtze (AB, L, D)
Ashoring at Shibaozhai, literally "Precious Stone Fortress". This breathing holding
cultural site is characterized by a red pavilion of nine floors which leans against the
rocky and craggy hill. It provides a walkway to the temple at the top of the hill, that was
built during the Qing Dynasty in 250 years ago. With the construction of the Three
Gorges Dam, a coffer dam around the base has to be built to protect the Pavillion from
the rising water. Climbing the 12 stories is not as difficult as it may sound because you
will need time to look at the paintings and sculptures on each level. In the afternoon,
optional shore tour to Fengdu, which is known for its Ghost city. According to
superstitious legend, "the dead come to Fengdu and the devils go to hell". Since Tang
Dynasty, forty-eight temples have been built in this place, such as the "Hall of the Jade
Emperor", " the "Palace of Hell", "Boundary Between the Living and the Dead", " the
"Ridge of Helplessness" and the "Balcony of Nostalgia". All of the temples there look
quite magnificent while statues are extremely lifelike.
June 25, Chongqing/Shanghai (B, L, D)
Cruise arrive at Chongqing in the morning, We drive over to the zoo to see the pandas,
with just an estimated 1,000 surviving in the wild. Later in the day, flight to Shanghai.
Take river cruise to enjoy shanghai’s night view on Huangpu River after dinner.
June 26.Shanghai (AB, L, D)
The full day city tour includes a visit to Yu Garden, a classical Ming garden built by a
wealthy businessman for his parents as an act of filial piety. Take in the local scenery at
bustling shopping district Nanjing Road and travel along the famous Bund, a five-block
long riverfront promenade containing many of Shanghai 's banks and trading houses.
Get on the tallest building-Global Financial Center and overlook the amazing city from
sky.
June. 27 Shanghai/Hometown
An English speaking representative will meet you in your hotel lobby for your airport
transfer by shuttle bus. optional extended tour to Xian or Guilin are available per request.

Xian
D1 Shanghai/Xian (AB, IM , SD )
After breakfast, fly to Xian, the starting point of the historic Silk Road . We drive by the Ancient
City Wall, and stop to visit the Bell Tower .
D2 Xian (AB, L, D)
Xian was the former capital of China and enjoys a 5000 year old history. In 221 BC, Qing Shi
Huang unified China and became its first emperor. When he died, an entire Terra Cotta Army
was constructed and buried with him. It was uncovered serendipitously in 1974 by farmers, and
then became one of the century's great archeological discoveries. For dinner, we enjoy an
Imperial Dumpling Banquet. Enjoy the world famous Tang Dynasty Stage Show after dinner.
D3 Xian/Next destination (AB, IM, D)
Finish tour in Xian with a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda . Flight to the next destination.
Guilin
D1 Xian/Guilin (AB, IM, D)
After visiting Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xian. Depart Xian for Guilin by air, visit the Reed Flute
Cave upon arrival, and enjoy a local Folk Dance Show after dinner.
D2 Guilin/Yangshuo (AB, L, D)
The highlight of today is a leisurely 4-hour cruise down the Li River, passing through valleys,
bamboo groves and rice fields. Lunch will be served on board. The rest of the day is at leisure
on your own. Ride a bicycle or walk to the countryside and experience the real Chinese
Farmer's life.
D3 Guilin/Departure city
After finishing up the tour in Guilin by visiting the Solitary Beauty Peak , which offers a
panoramic view of the city. Fly to the next city for departure to USA
